Working at Viking is very rewarding. Our pumps pump everything from tar, asphalt, chocolate, gas, oil. It's very rewarding to know that the product you're making goes into a lot of different applications. My expectations coming into Viking was it's a family-friendly company and when I first got here, everybody already knew my name. People seem to care about me. It really lived up to the family-friendly aspect that I've heard about. I went from driving a fork truck, painting, consolidating. I had coaching along the way from supervisors, from upper management, throughout the career process to get me to become a lead man in shipping - and that's where I really understood that I liked helping at the leadership level. And I got coached to and talked to to try to become a supervisor and put in for that job. And I did and I feel like the whole time I've had support from a lot of people. Viking trusting me that I came from the floor. I came from not having a bunch of education background and trusting that I'm going to do the right thing and become a supervisor. When it comes to hiring people, I'm in the interview process. I haven’t been a supervisor a year and they already trust me in making decisions. We erased the line between union and company because a lot of union shops, there's a clear divide. It is Viking first. It's not union, it's not company. It's Viking. We care about our employees. We care about our coworker, so we do fundraisers - we do stuff like that to help everybody out. The company and the union work well together to make Viking strive. The last company I worked for - it was you're making the owner richer. That's not what it is here. I'm Brandon Bogardus. I'm one of the production supervisors in the machine shop at Viking Pump.
