How to Turn Your iPhone Camera Into A Virtual Magnifying Glass
In iOS 12 you now have a Virtual magnifying glass. But first, you need to enable it. Go to Settings - Control Center - Customize Controls. Scroll down to find Magnifier and tap the green plus button.
Now from anywhere, access the control center and tap on the magnifier icon.
Here you have the option to change the amount of magnification. The flash icon will turn on the flashlight and the lock icon will lock in the autofocus. The shutter button will take a still image of the screen for you to move or zoom around. This will not be saved in your photos app. To re-enable camera, n on the shutter button again.
You can also tweak certain settings by tapping on the filter icon. This can be helpful when you need to discern details better. You have the option to select filters, change the brightness and contrast, as well as enable color inverting.
