She's done a lot of EQD demos and events for us in Japan, but it's finally here! An EQD Session featuring Hisako Tabuchi’s band toddle! Hisako started this band after Number Girl disbanded in 2002. And now she's back with her new band from Tokyo performing “Illuminate” and “Vacantly” at the Audio Techica studio in Tokyo!
Hisako plays her vintage Jazzmaster neck pickup as usual, strumming through her chords with her tight rhythm section. She incorporates Arrows and Plumes as two different boosters with the trusted dirt pedals she's been using for a decade, the BOSS Blues Driver and Klon. Hisako loves the fact that Arrows is nicely EQ’ed so that her guitar cuts thru the mix when she wants it to, but she doesn't have to bump up the volume. And using Plumes as a booster, adds a nice push and bite feel to her base dirt sound.
She also loves the Dispatch Master delay/reverb and Ghost Echo reverb. As you can hear in this session, it slightly modulates the air when she turns them on.
Ai Kobayashi supports Hisako with her thick and warm overdrive tone from EQD's Dunes, as well as the White Light and Timmy. Her melodies swim through the session.
Hisako has done a lot of projects with different artists and this session might be a great chance for you to compare with what she's done with other guitarists in her career!
