Big Pop EarthQuaker Sessions "The Depths"
It's almost our big day! The Revenge Of EarthQuaker Day is happening on Saturday, Aug. 6th, at EQD headquarters in downtown Akron. So, to whet your appetite for the good food, fun, friendly folks, and great music, here's a tune from Akron's own Big Pop. The self-described "rock/pop conglomerate from Earth" brings us a change of pace with a 50's-style-rock n' roll-infused power ballad called "The Depths," and yes, it was named for the EQD optical vibe pedal, pretty cool, eh? Lead singer and guitarist Jeri Sapronetti gets all vulnerable, detailing her heartbreak and romantic disappointment over the swaying waltz-time groove laid down by the quintet. There's even a brief mid-song monologue!
