Is a bumblebee capable of teaching? Evidently…yes. I created a layered 2D illustration of a bee in Photoshop as a vehicle for learning how to use basic After Effects expressions. For today’s animation, the Wiggle expression came in handy for creating the illusion of bumpy flight and the LoopOut expression made it easy to flap the bee’s wings indefinitely. I’m definitely not a code kind of guy, but these expressions are easy to use and extremely useful. Thanks to Mike Scalisi of Triple Threat Digital for sharing his After Effects expressions wisdom during a recent Boulder Digital Arts presentation. Learning new skills makes me happy!
