If the idea of creating millions of tiny flowing particles that can be shaped into smoke, clouds, fairy dust, or flames excites you, Trapcode Particular by Red Giant is the go-to After Effects plug-in. When Red Giant released their latest version of the Trapcode Suite last month, I fell in love with the promo banner featuring colorful particles dancing inside glass jars, as if in an enchanted apothecary. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to create my own version. I rendered the bottles in Cinema 4D, then added the Particular particles in After Effects. To merge the particle reflections with the bottles, I headed back to Cinema 4D for one more pass. The shot is only 7 seconds, but I hope it delights your child within.
