This video is a review of my first year of uploading on youtube, the ups and downs and what I have learnt so far as well as hints for those wanting to start their own youtube channel.

Useful links:

Mentioned in the video is the free video editing software I use and thought it would be good to give you a link to each of them if you want to try them out:

Openshot video editor - This is great software if you are starting out and don't want anything to complicated and it can handle video editing up to 4K

Audacity sound editor - An excellent piece of software to edit your music, voiceovers, etc. You can add sound effects and manipulate audio anyway you want to:

Davinci Resolve video editor - This is unbelivable software for when you want to start taking your videos to the next level. Used by professional studios to make TV series and films. A bit more of a learning curve but search on youtube for a quick how to use video and you'll be editing in it and using some of its more advanced features in no time. The free version can handle video editing up to 4K but if you pay for the one time upgrade to the full studio and it can handle 32k resolution and 120 frames a second.. for when you want to make ET 2

Finally I use Thematic for any background music I use in my videos. It's a good source of professional music and as long as you put the link in your video to the music you use, then its free to use. They do have a paid for version as well that unlocks a lot more tracks and gives you unlimited downloads of tracks and allows you to use them on podcasts as well:

Finally for making your youtube thumbnail. I use Canva.com. What's great about this is that you can access your designs from any computer with an internet connection and modify them. You can also upload your own photos and work on them adding text etc. You get a lot with the free version but you can subcribe for the full version which unlocks a lot more features not only for images but for video to:
