Dhamma Talk by Sis. Low Miyen on Setting the Priority in Cultivating Spirituality, Psychological Health and Wellbeing on 26 May 2024.
🪷 Sis. Miyen first learned Buddhist teachings in UKM Buddhist Fellowship in 1989 and was active as Emcee, committee member and later as Deputy-President from 1991/1992. Post-graduation she was active for many years in UKM Buddhist Alumni, Buddhist Gem Fellowship Counselling Unit and Kuala Lumpur Buddhist Mental Health Association as committee member, plus a frequent ad hoc volunteer and speaker at various Buddhist organizations. A keen meditator for more than 30 years, learning meditation from different teachers, from Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Australia. Professionally, Miyen is a clinical psychologist who works with individuals, couples, families, workplace and community for more than 28 years in different settings (NGO, corporate companies, private practice) and in the recent 12 years focusing on mindfulness and compassion-based interventions. She is a Trained Teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) with Center for Mindful Self-Compassion USA and Apprentice Teacher of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) with Oxford Mindfulness Foundation, UK.
