Motion Graphics 06 - Beholder
All my life, I’ve been drawn to things that feel magical…the whole spectrum from Harry Potter to childbirth to Hollywood visual effects. Even though I didn’t know it at the time, I’m pretty sure this interest is what attracted me many years ago to taking pictures. In those days, you had to wait until the film was processed, but boy did it feel magical when you cracked open a box of Fuji Velvia slides and placed them, in all their glowing glory, on a light table. Around that same time, I discovered Photoshop. Talk about a close encounter with magic! Photoshop gave me an opportunity to imagine ideas, then bring them to life before my very eyes. In my never-ending quest to feel a connection with magic, I’m now using After Effects and Element 3D to create moving pictures and visual effects like the 8-second animation you see here. Since wizard status isn’t in the cards (at least not in this lifetime), I thank my lucky stars for the ability to dream and create using the awesome tools produced by the imaginative people at Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/) and Video Copilot (http://www.videocopilot.net/).
