ArchiCAD Tutorial #19: Taking materials from SketchUp to ArchiCAD
I'm a really big fan of the default materials in SketchUp. Here's a video on how to take them SketchUp to ArchiCAD. It's really simple. And if you're staying in SketchUp, I guess this video also covers how to edit materials.
Bonus: this video also covers importing jpgs into ArchiCAD (both external libraries and embedded libraries).
