In this tutorial, I demonstrate, step by step, how to create a video loop in Shotcut. Creating a video loop is relatively simple, the most difficult part is figuring out how to join the beginning and ending of a clip together and then blending the audio so that it's not distracting.
I'll show you how to do both during this tutorial. When you're done watching you'll be able to create your own video loops for backgrounds, screen savers, or maybe just a favorite screen to relax to while you work or study.
The clip used in the demonstration is the historic Portland Head Light lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The light station sits on a head of land at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor and is really beautiful.
I found this scene so relaxing that I've created two hour long loops using this same clip and posted them to the channel. One's in longform (smartphone) and the other is widescreen (pc).
I filmed this with my GoPro Hero action camera. I'd recommend this camera for anyone that's on the move. The thing is indestructible and waterproof and takes incredible pictures and video.
Here are some Amazon associate links to the GoPro Camera and accessories I used to film for this demonstration.
