Restoration the Dirtiest Mechanical Grease Pump - England 20-th century
Hi! Today, the restoration of the old English grease pump of the 20th century. The company "Tecalemit" England. The body is made of steel, the parts are brass, aluminum and steel. I bought this vintage thing at a flea market. The condition is so neglected that it has stopped working for a long time, but I will fix it!
First, I started to take everything apart into details. All the parts were very dirty 99% of the time. There were no oil seals, the original bolt and the grease had dried out long ago.
I disassembled all the parts separately and put all the small parts in a jar with solvent. The rest were left covered with a cloth that was soaked via solvent.
The next day, I started cleaning mechanically, manually and with sand. As a result, all the parts were extremely well cleaned. Next, I washed everything with hot water and greasy dish detergent.
Then again, sanding and assembly.
I lubricated all the connection points with oil, added a new modern lubricant to the grease tank.
And of course I did a test, which turned out to be very funny. Please don't forget to share this video.
