Restoration Of A Rusty Unknown Tool - Still no answer...
Hi! Is there a restoration of an unknown instrument or device today? No one could tell what it was? Obviously, during the restoration process, I realized that the steel of the component parts is good, but for what? The condition of the object is average, the handle is broken, there is a lot of rust, the mechanism does not work. I'm starting the restoration.
The first thing I did for a long time was to disassemble the device (tool) into parts, put it in a rust remover, cleaned and treated with an iron brush. Some parts are sandpaper from 400-600 grit.
I carved a new handle out of hornbeam wood, soaked it with beeswax and oil. I wanted to do a test, but how? Likewise, I do not know what it is. Please share this video.
