Blow Realism in Your Blender Environments with WIND EFFECTS

Even though it's an 8 minute video, in just 4 minutes I'll show you this awesome and easy technique to create some lovely wind breeze animations for your foliage in Blender such as grass, leaves, trees and bushes using weight paint gradients, an empty null and expressions.

We start by adding a displace modifier to our foliage mesh. After tweaking the settings, we head over to the weight painting. We'll do a quick weight paint gradient on our mesh. After this is done we create a new empty null, which we'll animate with an expression that changes its location over time. After setting the displace texture to clouds noise, the modifier only moves the mesh around based on the weight.
