Which is better - Java or Mainframe.

If you are asked to choose Mainframe Vs Java. It is difficult to choose because both are having opportunities depending upon the company and project.

Java is a modern language and has more opportunities while Mainframe is one of the older tools which has COBOL as one of the oldest languages.

In terms of competition, Mainframe has less competition so you have a better chance of getting a job in Mainframe but Mainframe job can be dull or boring depending on the project. There are fewer development projects.

On the other hand, Java is modern and looks better but has more competition.
