Today, I will share the story of a foster mother from Kamchatka, Ekaterina Frolova. Four years ago, she adopted a dark-skinned boy named Djem from an orphanage. Her story has been followed by a large number of people across Russia. She was constantly asked the same question: how did you find a child from the African continent? Djem was born in Russia. Katya did not specifically look for a dark-skinned child. She simply saw Djem in the Federal database of orphaned children and immediately wanted to adopt him. Until he was 7 months old, the boy was in a baby home. When Katya called the guardianship office about Djem, she was told that his biological mother would soon take him. But she never did.
