"I was very burned out, I received no help from anyone, and I made the very difficult decision to return two children to the orphanage" – this message came from foster mother Lyudmila Vorobyova from Kaliningrad. Lyudmila is a single mother. She was raising her biological son and three foster children.
The girl Zhenya lived in her family for 6 years, and Diana for two years. The girls have FAS – fetal alcohol syndrome and attachment disorder. Lyudmila worked long and hard on the rehabilitation of the children, but at some point, she couldn't take it anymore, burned out, became exhausted, and returned them to the orphanage.
A year has passed since their return. Lyudmila realized that she couldn't live without her eldest foster daughter Zhenya, whom she had returned. Now she wants to become Zhenya's guardian again and take her back. The guardianship does not grant her that right and even does not allow for visitation. For all the details, check out my interview.
