In this video, I demonstrate two approaches to modeling in 3ds Max: a manual method and an automatic one. We start with a cylinder that has a central hole, aiming to extend every other segment and taper it to resemble a gear. In the first part, I manually select and extrude each polygon one by one, showing how tedious and error-prone this method can be. In the second part, I quickly select every other polygon and use extrude and bevel to create the gear efficiently. This video highlights the importance of using the right tools and techniques for faster and more accurate modeling.
