Amazefit Pace Runs On Android 5.1 Lollipop

I have to warn you that this video is a log on something I am still working on. So don't get too excited.
At first I was under the impression that the Amazfit pace was running on some sort of custom firmware created by Xiaomi.
Having a deeper look at the settings, I realised that this was not true. It runs on some version of android.
So I automatically assumed that it was running on android wear and so I tried side loading android wear applications onto the watch.
But as you can see, I was getting this error when I was trying to do this.
The error means, the device does not run android wear.
Then it struck me, that the watch is not running on just Android wear, it is running on Android. The OS that you have on phones and tablets.
Why would Xiaomi do that, Android wear is much more power efficient and is rich with watch specific features? The only reasons i could think of was
They probably started working on this watch before android wear came into the scene, or they wanted to offer something more that the android wear os could not offer.
I don't know. If it was the second reason, I am sure they have not implemented it yet, because I don't see anything that android wear could not already do.
Getting back to the point I was trying to make, when I tried running application on the watch from Android Studio, I could see that it has Android 5.1 KitKat installed on it.
This is why the watch is not able to transfer health data to the default health apps on my phone, because the watch thinks it's a phone by itself.
My biggest problem with using the Amazfit Pace as my main watch is its phone app. This app sucks. It hardly does anything that you cant already do from the watch.
I tried installing a demo application on the watch, and as you can see, it works. Thats a good start.
But currently the problem is, the app is not persistent. Meaning, when you close the app, you can get back to it as it does not show in your menus.
I think the latest update on the watch, which is 1.3.2b has something to do with this, because when you put the watch into developer mode
By tapping on the serial number for 5 times. The Lab is enabled, but it only has a bluetooth snooper log application and wifi signal strength checker application on it.
This is supposed to have more applications here.
I am working on this, it should not be too hard to figure this out.
