Effects of FASTING on BODY COMPOSITION! [Please Don't Do It!]

Does fasting help with weight loss? It depends! Intermittent fasting can help some people reduce their calorie intake. Otherwise, its benefits are limited! Alternate day fasting is as effective as the same amount of continuous calorie restriction, but unfortunately, it adversly affects LDL cholesterol levels!

But worst of all: water-only fasting or severe calorie restriction over several days! Not only is the initial drop in water weight deceiving, you will likely lose a lot of muscle mass as well! And exercise would make that even worse!

When we study the effects of fasting on body composition, we can check how it affects body fat percentage! Did you know you can have a healthy BMI, but a body fat percentage that is classified as obese?! Sadly, fasting brings you closer to this unhealthy state! If you want to reach a healthy BMI and healthy body fat percentage, please go for a slow and steady weight loss! Your body and your health will thank you for it!
