The normal =Rank function in Excel gives you the same rank for 2 or more same values.
For example, if there are 4 values - 34, 30, 38, 34; ranking is done in descending order,
38 will get rank 1
34 will get rank 2
34 will get rank 2
30 will get rank 4
Using =COUNTIFS with Rank will give you different ranks for repeating values - • Excel Rank Function with different ra...
38 will get rank 1
34 will get rank 2
34 will get rank 3
30 will get rank 4
But using these 2 methods, you can get Same Rank for Repeating values, but Different Rank for different values, yet all Ranks will be in a sequence.
38 will get rank 1
34 will get rank 2
34 will get rank 2
30 will get rank 3
28 will get rank 4
28 will get rank 4
26 will get rank 5
