error: BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart.
Operating system: Windows 7
Cause of error: bootmgr or Boot manager is the boot file for the Windows operating system. The bootmgr file is usually stored on the "System Reserved" drive or on the C drive. If a drive is stored inside the bootmgr file, then the partition status is "active", but if the partition state is "inactive", an error "BOOTMGR is missing" will occur. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart ".

Solution:
1. Create a Windows 7 bootable USB flash disk, or Windows 7 bootable CD.
2. Insert the Windows 7 bootable USB flash, restart the computer and boot from the USB DISK.
3. Go to the "Repair your computer" menu
4. Enter the "System Recovery Options" menu
5. Open Command Prompt
6. In the Command Prompt, enter the command:
diskpart
list disk (displays a list of disks)
select disk 0 (Disk 0 = hard disk, Disk 1 = USB flash disk)
list partition (display the hard disk partition table)
select partition 1 (usually the bootmgr file is in partition # 1)
active (set the partition state to active)
7. Close the Command Prompt
8. Restart the computer, and boot from the hard drive. Done.
