$52 billion debate: Best way to spend opioid lawsuit settlement money?
The fight against the opioid epidemic is getting a big cash infusion. More than $50 billion in settlement money from the pharmaceutical industry, which profited so much from the sale of opioids, is beginning to flow to states across the nation.
But as that money is doled out, debate is growing over where those dollars should be spent to make the biggest difference.
