How this came about: I've started redoing the demos in my old slider collection from 2015 (video • Fixing my crappy code... after over h... / collection https://codepen.io/collection/DgYaMj?...) and one of them needed a weaved background. Back then I had used the Carbon pattern from Lea Verou's gallery (https://projects.verou.me/css3pattern..., but, while that was a cool solution at the time, it doesn't quite cut it in 2021: it uses 6 layered gradients and breaks at larger sizes. So I thought I'd play around a bit and try to come with another solution, one that's more compact and reliable.
