Bartholomew Tinsilfinner was hired by the Commission on Customization and Restoration of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce to lay carpet in the grand ballroom of what had, in the early 20th Century, been one of Seattle’s finest hotels. The Copper Stove Inn was established in 1911, and for five decades, it had served the community as a bastion of social gatherings. In the middle 1970s, however, The Copper Stove begin to dilapidate. Wishing to reclaim a bit of the grandeur of the early 20th Century, the Commission on Customization and Restoration began plans to remodel and restore. The grand ballroom, a centerpiece in the architecture that spanned a width of seventy-five feet from side to side and commanded a depth from front to back of fifty feet required a massive effort to bring back its lost glory. Mr. Tinsilfinner was selected and commissioned to install carpet. What, in square feet, amount of carpet would be needed for the restoration?
