Sixgill stingray (Hexatrygon bickelli) is the only ray species with six pairs of gill slits. They typically inhabit around depths of 362-1120 meters, but have also been observed at depths of 30 meters. Additionally, there is a record indicating that a collected specimen had a wound from a cookiecutter shark (Isistius brasiliensis).
