Black Swallower 🐟🐟
Black Swallower (Chiasmodon niger) usually lives at depths below 750 meters. It has an expandable mouth and a highly elastic stomach, allowing it to ingest and accommodate prey larger than itself. However, if the prey is too large, it may decompose and produce gas in the stomach before it can be fully digested, causing the fish to float to the surface.
