The first way to add text to a TikTok video is to tap the Text icon on the right side of the simple video editing window. Now you can type in the text you want to add. Choose a font from the menu below, and use the tools at the top to change the text colour, style, and alignment. When you’re finished designing your text, tap Done. Then drag the text box to wherever you’d like it to sit on your video. To adjust the timing and duration of the text, tap the text box, then select Set Duration. Drag the ends of the text clip in the video timeline below to set the beginning and end of the text overlay clip. Tap Play to see what it looks like. Tap the check mark in the bottom right corner to save your changes. Repeat this process to add additional text boxes as needed.
The other way to add text to a TikTok video is within the studio editor. Tap the studio icon on the right to open the studio editor. Tap Text. Then tap Add Text to add a new text box. Now you can type in the text you want to add, and change the font, style, and colour. After adding your text, you can hold and drag it to the area of your video you want it to appear on. To adjust the timing and duration of the text box, and drag the ends of the text clip in the video timeline below. You can also easily enable the text to speech function here. Repeat to add additional text boxes as needed.
