~ recipes ~
calorie dense oatmeal:
1/2 oats
3/4 oatmilk
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 whole apple
additional fruit (banana, strawberries, etc)
microwave the oats and oatmilk for 2-3 minutes. stir in almond butter and maple syrup. top with fruit!
zuppa toscana copy cat soup:
6 strips of bacon
1 pound italian sausage
1 onion
5 cloves of garlic
2 tetra packs (64 oz) of chicken broth less sodium
3 russet potatoes
1/2 pint heavy cream
1 bunch of kale
render bacon and remove from pot. brown sausage and remove from pot. add onion and garlic to the pot; cook until fragrant. add 64oz of chicken stop and bring to a boil. add in potatoes and cook for 10 minutes or until fork tender. stir in heavy cream and add kale. cook for an additional 5 minutes. serve with garlic bread!
protein pasta:
1lb (1 box) barilla protein pasta
1lb ground turkey (85% fat)
1 onion
6 cloves garlic
1 jar mezetta garlic marinara sauce (i also like the 3 cheese sauce)
2 tablespoons of cream cheese
1/4 pint heavy cream
1/2 bag of spinach
boil water and add pasta. cook onion and garlic until fragrant. add and brown protein (turkey). pour in pasta sauce. stir in heavy cream and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. once thickened, add cooked pasta and some pasta water. continuously stir on medium high / high heat for 5 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the starch from the pasta water has thickened the pasta. add cream cheese, spinach, and additional seasonings.
