Have you heard of this Goan tradition?
Many Goans in Goa and around the world offer food to the less fortunate on All Souls Day and for those who cant do the same, they would simply offer some food to the birds with the belief that the souls would come in the form of birds and enjoy the food. That's exactly what I did earlier today by offering some tasty Popcorn Chicken, fresh fries, and Kit Kat chocolate for the souls. As you can see, they relished the food in no time, and it made me happy to watch them.enjoy their meal. I also offered my prayers during the mass. It is also said that the gates of the cemetry close at noon time on All Souls Day, and I prayed for all the souls, especially the ones in purgatory and for whom no is there to pray for
I noticed the birds finished the popcorn chicken first followed by the fresh fries, and the chcolate was left for the end, probably as their dessert to enjoy. At one stage, there were very many birds awaiting their turn to get hold of the yummie food, and they all had enough that the food was eaten off in a few minutes. Of course, the Australian Bin Chicken's presence made other smaller birds a bit scared. However, I'm thrilled I could share this experience and Goan tradition with you all!
