The Danger of Feeling Good - My Body With Lipedema and EDS
Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. This is my life trial. I didn't know that not everyone was in extreme pain all the time! I thought pain was normal. Now, I feel a bit robbed the entirety of my life, and what I've missed out on - mainly not being normal. I am still dealing with those feelings, and know that I would not want to choose any other life than what I have right now. I love my life, I just want to be awake to enjoy the people I love! I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome EDS, and Lipedema. Both are connective tissue disorders which cause extreme fatigue and pain. Ive had both all my life. I have learned to live with a lot of the pain, but I must be awake to live my life. I have nothing against medicine to treat pain, but for me, it's not something I would ever be able to get off of. I dont want to start it at my age, right now. I think some of these medications are miracles, but I also have to be realistic. There is no effective treatment for these disorders except for surgery or liposuction to get rid of the diseased fat. Lipedema fat is inflammation that has turned fat into hard nodules, becoming fibrosis. It causes a lot of pain and is very heavy. EDS in short, causes problems with internal organs (anything that is made of connective tissue) and it makes your joints go out of place constantly and very easily. It becomes disabling around my age. A lot of people end up in wheelchairs depending on how severe and which type of EDS. I have POTS and gastroparesis caused by EDS. In the video you can hear me constantly have air bubbles come up my esophagus. This is because the food that I eat does not get digested and basically rots in my stomach, making me nauseous all the time.
