There’s been a lot of excitement, buzz and hype about Output’s new Co-Producer AI sample pack generator. Some predict it will change how we get sample packs, making online subscription services and curated sample packs obsolete. But sample packs, building your own sample library and how you integrate samples with your DAW are infrastructure that’s very entrenched. We’re talking about a change to “just in time samples” as you need them, and human behaviour does not change quickly. In this video, I’ll walk through Co-Producer, with some demo’s and preview the samples it creates AND I’ll compare than too traditional sample management with ADSR Sample Manager, and subscription services like Loopcloud and Splice. Then I’ll predict how other vendors will respond to Output’s bold move, and if AI will really make a difference.
