Most galaxies follow a simple pattern: the stars at the center of the galaxy are old as shit.

They'll condense together creating a stronger gravitational pull, which pulls in more stars from around them.

It's a cycle that repeats itself.

Because of this, galaxies normally have their oldest stars in the center of the galaxy, and their younger stars surrounding them on the outer edges.

But not UGC 1382.

Dubbed the Frankenstein Galaxy by NASA, UGC 1382 actually has its youngest stars on the outer edges, and the oldest stars near the center.

Why is that?
