A Day in the Park: Chasing Nory and Julia at Whistler Bike Park
Lucky to spend a day at Whistler Bike Park chasing my daughter, Nory, and her Sweetlines Elite Racing teammate, Julia. Gosh these girls are amazing! We rode 7 laps including A-Line, Fade to Black, Joyride, Dwayne Johnson, Dirt Merchant, and more. Do you think you could keep up?
Most dudes see a few girls wearing purple and assume they're not going to be very good. WRONG! I can't count how many bros cut us off, but once they saw Nory and Julia ride, they were impressed. Not many groms can throw a no-hander on the moon booter on A-Line or get as sideways!
I (Nory's dad) also race Cat1, but struggled to keep up. Julia is a pro and Nory races Cat 1 too, they're just faster than me and that's okay. I'm just happy if I can keep them in sight!
Nory and Julia ride for Sweetlines Elite Racing, an all-girls team based in Seattle, WA. Norco Bicycles is a sponsor of the team, and both girls are riding Norco Range bicycles that have been converted to a DH-only configuration with mullet wheel configuration and RockShox BoXXer dual-crown fork. Both were previously on a Norco Aurum, but prefer the feel of the DH-converted Range.
