GARBO & CREEKSIDE | Father's Day at Whistler Bike Park
The Garbo and Creekside Zones have recently opened at Whistler Bike Park! Here we ride some of our favorite trails in these areas: Filthy Ape, Dirt Merchant Pro, Freight Train, and Original Sin. We were visiting Whistler Bike Park for Father's Day weekend, and here I'm riding with my 13yo son, Elliott.
Crazy stuff happens in Whistler Bike Park! On Filthy Ape, I cracked my rear rim - oof! Managed to replace it with a spare from the truck to keep riding. On Freight Train, a BEAR crossed the trail in front of Elliott - yikes! Luckily he was able to slow down in time. And this was our first time riding Dirt Merchant Pro this season, so good!
Conditions at the top of the Garbanzo lift were variable. We had quite a bit of snow falling on the way up, and there's still snow at the top of the mountain. Many of the fun trails off the top of Garbo are not open, so we would ride Blue Velvet down to the trails you se here. Cold, but I'm glad there's now a nice way to transfer from the Fitzsimmons Zone over to Creekside.
