Depression is a mental health disorder, defined by core symptoms of a depressed mood and loss of interest or pleasure in life events for prolonged period of time, persisting for anywhere from several weeks to several years. Recognising the signs of depression, and having the language to express our feelings, can help us seek help before things get on top of us, and make depression more managable.
