Crusaders and Fatimid Egypt
This segment of Middle Eastern History with Dr.Brovkin deals with the cultural economic political and military encounters of the Crusaders with the Orient generally and with Fatimid Egypt in particular. Allies at one point and enemies at another these encounters were fateful for both sides. The failure of the Crusaders to establish control over Egypt made their hold on Jerusalem precarious. Establishment of control over Egypt by Saladin all but ensured his eventual victory over Crusaders.
