Make this your HIGHEST PRIORITY SIDEQUEST! Before tackling any other quests in FF7 Remake Chapter 14, embark on a mission that unlocks the ultimate speed boost across the slums with CHOCOBOS. This video reveals the quickest way to obtain Chocobo Sam's Lifetime Pass – the key to free and efficient fast travel. Save both time and gil, ensuring you're fully equipped to conquer every sidequest that awaits!
To initiate this sidequest, right after Kyrie completes her rant about AVALANCHE, look for Chadley at the Sector 5 slums area. Stand facing Chadley, then turn to your right and sprint straight ahead. Just before reaching the fenced-up area occupied by Damon, the Daily Buzz journalist, the Stablehand intervenes, pleading for your assistance in locating his chocobos. In gratitude, he bestows upon you Gysahl Greens to nurture the chocobos you are destined to find.
As the Stablehand concludes his plea, approach the fenced-up zone near Damon, setting aside his sidequest for the time being. Pivot right upon spotting Damon, traverse past construction cones and forsaken Shinra tanks, entering a dim tunnel. Navigate through until you encounter an intersection with the Slum Public Cemetery on your right. Opt for the left path, descending the slope past open gates, leading you to the Scrapyard Back Alley. Witness your first chocobo awaiting your approach. Before initiating contact, equip ice and wind materia to brace for the impending appearance of a rust drake. Engage in battle with the Rust Drake, and once victory is secured, Cloud instinctively feeds the greens to the chocobo, prompting its return to the stablehand.
The journey unfolds as we set our sights on the next chocobo near the old church. Depart from the initial chocobo's location, heading left until a ladder comes into view. Ascend the ladder, veering left to confront Gorgers. After subduing the Gorgers, traverse the path encountering three hedgehog pies. Eliminate them and press onward, discovering a hidden passage through metal barrels and debris, leading to the train station. Navigate the station by taking a left along the platform, locating a yellow forklift at the end before turning right into an alley. Proceed through the broken fence and eliminate any hedgehog pies in your path. Advance until you encounter a blue tractor and additional hedgehog pies, concluding the enemy encounters. The second chocobo awaits your arrival; simply approach, feed it the greens, and watch it return to the stablehand.
Upon the second chocobo's departure, progress through the metal gates toward the old church. A chocobo stop emerges in front of the church, offering fast travel for a 300gil fee until the quest concludes. Spend the gil to reach the entrance of the collapsed expressway. Enter the dark tunnel on the left, facing gorgers upon reaching the light. Defeat them and proceed to a ladder, facing more gorgers at the top. Dispatch them and descend to encounter a giant metal hand, serving no purpose. Ascend the adjacent ladder, dealing with smoggers. Run away once they are defeated, avoiding their self-destructive explosion. Navigate through the debris and face FF7R Varghipolis, defeating them to progress along the winding road filled with more Varghipolis and debris. Descend the slope, confronting gorgers, and proceed beneath a large orange pipe. Traverse under the pipe into sunlight, discovering the third chocobo. Approach, feed it the greens, and witness its joy as it returns to the stablehand.
Talk to the chocobo, and it will appear extremely scared and distressed. Turn around, and you will observe three ugly creatures descending from above. These are Trypapolis, a subspecies of the varghidpolis. Trypapolis is robust, resisting both physical and magical attacks and lacking any elemental weaknesses. They do not stagger for long and use Aeroga, while their Screech ability stuns.
Strategy:
It is optimal to defeat the clones when they appear and use powerful character abilities or spells to pressure them. Despite their durability, their attacks are not overly deadly, and they can be inflicted with Poison to take damage over time. Attacking when they dance, even if they spawn clones, is not a bad idea, as the clones are weaker than the original, and the original loses health when its clones are killed. When one begins to screech, the player can quickly defend to avoid getting stunned. If the player character gets stunned, it is advisable to swiftly swap to someone not currently stunned and continue the assault. Keep healing everyone who gets hurt. Barret can stay at a distance and use Maximum Fury while Cloud uses Triple Slash. Tifa can use Starshower. It's going to be a lengthy fight, but once they go down, you will be rewarded with one happy chocobo. Feed the greens and return to Sam. You will earn Sam's delivery lifetime pass, which is super useful for completing the rest of the sidequests.
