"Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery" by Dr David E. Westberry, MD, Orthopaedic Surgery Specialist, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Greenville, USA.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
David Westberry, M.D., grew up in a small town in Georgia and was exposed to the field of orthopedic surgery by a local surgeon in the area. During his residency, Dr Westberry felt fortunate to spend a part of his training at Shriners Children’s where he was able to witness the skills of the providers and learn about the mission of the institution. Being a pediatric orthopedic surgeon allows Dr Westberry to take care of children of all ages, be a part of a healthcare team providing care to families and experience the victories and successes of each of Shriners patients.
One of his roles is the Medical Director of the Shriners Children’s Greenville Motion Analysis Center. This technology provides valuable information about a child’s walking pattern and allows the team to make sound decisions for treatment to improve gait. He also oversees the limb deficiency programme, providing surgical care and prosthetic needs for children with limb deficiency.
David feels fortunate to be able to travel to many countries providing orthopedic care and medical knowledge to those in more challenging circumstances.
