In this video we will examine other Scriptures in the New Testament that will help us to see that that Romans 1:18-32 is referring to the general Gentile (non-Jew) guilt of sin and how anyone found in this category of people can be saved through the power of the gospel. People who have been given over to a reprobate mind are not without hope and have not committed the unforgivable sin. By looking to other New Testament Scriptures, we can see that all unregenerate Gentiles and Jews have a calloused/hardened heart because of sin. All Jews without Christ are in the same position as Gentiles from Romans Chapter 1. They need to hear the gospel (the power of God unto salvation according to Romans 1:16) and allow the truth to set them free so they can be renewed in the spirit of their mind. Anyone with a reprobate (unapproved/rejected) mind can be saved by obeying Acts 2:38 in faith: Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 states, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
This passage of Scripture reveals to us how there were born again believers in the church of Corinth who at one time were in the category of Gentile sinners that we read about in Romans 1. But they had been born again by obeying the gospel! This is why the apostle Paul says, "such were some of you." Colossians 3:1-11 conveys to us this same understanding of how some of the born again believers in the church at Colossae had walked and lived in the same sins as those described in Romans 1:21-32, but they were now new creations in Jesus Christ. Titus 3:3-6 reveals how even the apostle Paul and Titus were deceived, disobedient, and serving diverse lusts until they experienced the love of God through the power of the gospel. We learn in 2 Corinthians 3:12-17 that the unbelieving Jews' minds were blinded; their hearts were hardened through unbelief. But this doesn't mean they were without hope. That passage reveals how their heart just needs to turn to the Lord so the vail that is upon their heart can be removed. This is the power of the gospel! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. These, along with many other Scriptures confirm to us that Romans 1:18-32 is not referring to people who have sinned in such a way that they cannot be saved. Anyone with a reprobate mind can be born again when they hear and obey the gospel in faith, where they can be renewed in the spirit of their mind. Allow God's Word to speak to you on these things and may the truth set you free if you have mistakenly believed you are without hope and can't be saved. That belief is a lie of the devil and you need the truth to set you free and correct that misunderstanding so you can be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
