Most people fear death. But the ancient philosophers Epicurus and Lucretius argue that your death is not bad for you because once you're dead, you don't exist. And something can only be bad for you if you exist. However, Thomas Nagel argues that death can be bad for us because of what it deprives us of—even if we do not exist to experience it.
