In August 2023, following the suspension of O-Train LRT Line 1 that began on July 17, 2023, OC Transpo began operating single-car trains instead of the usual double-car trains.
(Partial resumption of service began on August 8 between uOttawa Station and Tunney's Pasture Station; August 14 for full resumption of service between Blair Station and Tunney's Pasture Station)
Increased crowding on trains were being observed in late-August 2023 and into early-September 2023 as a result of operating single-car trains. To address those concerns, OC Transpo began operating a combination of single-car trains and a limited number of double-car trains as of September 11, 2023.
This video taken from Belfast Road and Tremblay Raod shows the single-car trains and double-car trains in action between 2:29pm and 2:43pm on September 13, 2023.
