OC Transpo Stage 2 LRT Detours: Temporary Bus-Only Westbound Pinecrest Off-Ramp (Nov 2021)
On November 1, 2021, the westbound off-ramp at Highway 417 at Pinecrest Road closed down to all regular traffic for Stage 2 LRT as part of the O-Train West Extension Project -- specifically to build the LRT Guideway between Lincoln Fields and Moodie. The purpose of the closure is to construct a new permanent westbound Pinecrest Road off-ramp by building an overpass structure so that that future LRT guideway could pass underneath the off-ramp. This closure is to last until Summer 2023.
In order to mitigate any delays to bus service, a new temporary bus-only off-ramp was built. Buses were moved over to the temporary bus-only off-ramp on November 6, 2021. (Note that this temporary bus-only off-ramp was unavailable between December 19, 2021 and May 1, 2022).
Once the permanent westbound Pinecrest Roadd off-ramp is built, buses will be removed from the temporary bus-only off-ramp.
