Why used Gumroad - why not Shopify in the first place?
Gumroad doesn’t ask for the customer’s address (in Shopify it can’t be disabled)
Gumroad simplifies international taxation and VAT by being the ‘merchant of record’ - the middleman.
Gumroad’s simple layout and built-in features such as automated emails make it easy for beginners to launch their first product.
Why I’m switching to Shopify
Lower fees - at this point I’m paying $150 a month for Gumroad because if its 10% flat fee.
Youtube Shopping integration - Shopify is one of the few platforms that integrated with Youtube, allowing you to showcase products on your channel.
Shopify alllows me more flexibility and precision in the design. I can better explain my products and convey more info.
Shopify will mean much more control over my SEO.
Relating to my audience - facing the same challenges as the Shopify merchants who watch my channel.
