Previously, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) was a crucial enterprise in ensuring the country's petroleum supply. Before 1993, Petrolimex was the country's only unit that imported jet fuel (including Jet A-1 and TC-1) for civil and military purposes. Petrolimex re-established its jet fuel business and Petrolimex Aviation Fuel Joint Stock Company was established to carry out this duty.
Petrolimex Aviation Fuel Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as PA), in Vietnamese “Công ty Cổ phần Nhiên liệu bay Petrolimex”, was granted the first business registration No. 0103024116 on April 28, 2008, by the Hanoi Authority of Planning and Investment and was last amended on August 6, 2018. On August 7, 2009, Petrolimex Aviation officially became one of the two main business hubs for exporting and importing jet fuel in Vietnam (according to the Registration for Importing and Exporting Aviation Fuel No. 15/ BCT-GPXD issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on August 7, 2009). This event is an important milestone in the implementation of the Government's policy in the petroleum market development strategy, in order to improve the quality of ground services and aviation fuel supply services to ensure fair competition in the domestic aviation sector.
