Explosions were heard overnight on Sunday in Marjayoun in southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel, while smoke and flames could be seen at distance from the city of Tyre, after Israel carried out airstrikes in the country in what it described as a pre-emptive action before a planned large-scale Hezbollah attack.
