Downloading and Installing gfortran 8.2 for macOS and R's Compiled Code Toolchain
The latest version of R is greater than R 4.2. This video's content is no longer accurate for versions of R 4.3 and above versions as the version of gfortran used is now gfortran 12.2 and above. Please seek out a more up-to-date video.

Open Web Browser and go to: https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortranBina...
Select "macOS"
Click on the GitHub release link:
https://github.com/fxcoudert/gfortran...
Scroll down to the "gfortran 8.2 for Mojave (macOS 10.14)" release
Press Triangle next to "Assets" to expand and reveal options.
Select "gfortran-8.2-Mojave.dmg"
Double click installer to open.
Then, follow instructions to install.
