Our flavorful journey begins with a brine or egg and buttermilk mixture, seasoned with salt and sugar, and marinated for at least four hours to ensure maximum tenderness and flavor infusion. Once our chicken has soaked up all that goodness, it's time to coat it in a crispy batter or a blend of cornstarch, flour, and spices like poultry seasoning, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Adjusting the batter for consistency is key to achieving that irresistible crunch. Then, it's into the fryer with oil heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, where our chicken sizzles to golden perfection.
