"Music of the New World," Catholic Church of the Holy Rosary, Vladimir
Lyrica Classic presents a broadcast of the recording of the concert "Music of the New World - Organ and Vocal," which took place on May 13 in Vladimir (Russia) at the Catholic Church of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary as part of the III International Music Festival "Spreading New Music around the World" and dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The concert program provided a unique opportunity for the Russian audience to hear the new organ-vocal sacred music by the Israeli-American composer Eli Tamar, written to Christian prayer texts, and the choral music of Sergei Rachmaninov performed by:
• Vocal Trio Melody - a community of three singers (soprano Svetlana Polianskaya, soprano Maria Zubova and contralto Olga Nadezhdina), winner of the Grand Prix of the Moscow International Music Festival "We are for the Peace" and the Absolute Grand Prix of the competition "Through hardships to the stars";
• Contralto Olga Nadezhdina - guest soloist of the Stanislavsky Opera House and the Bolshoi Theatre;
• Soprano Svetlana Polyanskaya - laureate of the All-Russian "Bella Voce" and the International Dvorak's Opera Competitions;
• Soprano Maria Zubova - 4 years was a soloist of the Vishnevskaya's Youth Theater Touring Group. Member of projects of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation, artist of the choir of the Stanislavsky Musical Theater.
• Soprano Yulia Petrachuk - guest soloist of Carnegie Hall in New York (USA), Musikverein in Vienna (Austria), and Thüringen Philharmonic in Gotha (Germany), founder of the international festival "Spread New Music to the World";
• Organist Marianna Vysotskaya - Professor and Head of the Department of Contemporary Music at the Moscow State Conservatory and a member of the Union of Composers of Russia.
• Vocal Ensemble Arielle - offten performes on the stages of the Stanislavsky and Mariinsky Theatre.
• Conductor Elmira Dadasheva - Deputy Director of the Moscow State Children's Music School named after Prokofieff, member of the expert council of the Center for Professional Excellence in the direction of "Choral Art" of the Department of Culture of Moscow.
The concert is supported by the US Embassy in Russia.
