Amy Marcy Cheney Beach's opera "Cabildo" on libretto by Nan Bagby Stephens - is a one-act opera about a colonial prison in New Orleans, from which the famous pirate Pierre Lafitte once escaped under mysterious circumstances, written for 7 soloists, a chorus, and a piano trio.
